On 1 April, 2009, the resort opened under the name AYANA Resort and Spa, managed by West Paces Hotel Group, which was founded by legendary hotelier Horst Schulze along with several former Ritz-Carlton executives. Schulze is a former president and founding member of The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, and was responsible for creating the company’s service standards. As chairman of West Paces Hotel Group, he has elevated the service standards for AYANA.
PT. Karang Mas Sejahtera remains as committed as ever to not only upholding the resort’s service and quality standards, but also their enhancement under the management of West Paces Hotel Group. The resort’s logo, created by renowned Japanese graphics artist Hiromura Masaaki, represents the essence of the AYANA experience, embodying Balinese concepts of peace, harmony and happiness. Akin to a tree of life, the logo motif depicts intertwining plants, flowers and wildlife in a distinctive azure blue color, reflecting how the waters of the majestic Indian Ocean merge seamlessly with AYANA’s azure sky.
The logo draws on the fundamental Balinese concept of ‘Tri Hita Kirana’, whereby the universe can only attain perfect balance when god, man and nature live in harmony together. This ‘integration of all creation’ theme is a perfect symbol for the philosophy of AYANA, where guests find complete sanctuary amongst the lush Balinese gardens, Balinese-themed architecture and warm Balinese hospitality. With the natural music and rhythm of the ocean and land blending with the infinite depths of the sky and sea, AYANA offers the perfect haven to completely unwind and restore a sense of balance and harmony.
